Developer’s Description
Description
Automesher application extends BricsCAD base DWG editors allowing to convert any mesh to solid and import / export common 3D file formats. It supports many of 3D file extensions including STL (Stereolithography), OFF (Object File Format), OBJ (Alias Wavefront Object), 3DS (3D Studio), SAT (Standard ACIS Text), IV (Inventor), PLY (Stanford Polygon Format), VRML (Virtual Reality), 3DM (Rhinoceros 3D Model), SKP (Google SketchUp), DAE (Collada), STEP (STandardized Exchange of Product), IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification), BREP (Boundary Representation) and allows to convert 3D drawing entities (ie. polygon or polyface meshes) into 3D solid objects.

OBJ Import for Bricscad Publisher’s Description
Alias (now part of Autodesk) is the world’s leading innovator of 2D/3D graphics technology for the film, video, games, interactive media, industrial design, automotive industry and visualization markets. Their OBJ ASCII file format is widely accepted the world over for exchanging data between CAD applications. OBJ files contain objects which are made up of groups of 3 or 4 sided faces. OBJ Import for Bricscad converts these groups of faces into PolyFace Mesh entities and adds them to the active drawing.
OBJ Import for Bricscad is very easy to use. Once installed, it must be loaded into the Bricscad environment. Follow the simple instructions in the ReadMe document which can be found in the installation folder. Once loaded it adds new commands to Bricscad’s existing commands and a new submenu called “OBJImport” to the Bricscad menu containing these newly added commands.

The OBJ File Format
The OBJ file format is a geometry definition file format first developed by Wavefront Technologies for its Advanced Visualizer animation package. The file format is open and has been adopted by other 3D graphics application vendors, making it a universally accepted geometry file format. The OBJ file format is a simple data format that represents 3D geometry alone – namely, the position of each vertex, the texture coordinate associated with a vertex, the normal at each vertex, and the faces that make each polygon.
OBJ Import for Bricscad 1.0 Description:
OBJ Import for Bricscad is an Alias Wavefront OBJ file import tool created for Bricscad based applications. This plug-in gives Bricscad powered applications the ability to import geometric data from OBJ files.
