This easy to use datatable uses an XML Document to create a HTML table that is scrollable, and can be used almost like a spreadsheet. Today enterprise apps more often than not, use a XML ‘feed’. JDatatable works with XML and CSV making it simple to represent your enterprise data in an easy to read table. And, with a custom cell rendering mechanism, changing the appearance of your data on the fly is simple. Add in the ability to also let your users EDIT the data in the table – as easy as a spreadsheet – then you are miles ahead. A sorting interface is also available. And do it all in less than 30k of included Javascript code

The best method for getting a hold of DataTables for use in your project depends upon your programming environment. The download builder below provides a simple method that you can use to build your own custom DataTables package – including only the software that you need, and providing options to have it hosted on the DataTables CDN, download the package locally or install through a package manager such as npmyarn or bower.

Download individual release files

The DataTables source files are available on the DataTables CDN for the release versions of the software. The files that should be included for each piece of software are shown below. If you would prefer to load only a single CSS and Javascript file, us the download builder which will combine the files to improve performance.

DataTables is a plug-in for the jQuery Javascript library. It is a highly flexible tool, built upon the foundations of progressive enhancement, that adds all of these advanced features to any HTML table.

Thank you for downloading DataTables, the free, open source table enhancing plug-in for jQuery. The DataTables package will download automatically – if it does not, please download it manually by clicking here.

DataTables CDN

The DataTables Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a permanent store of the software released as part of the DataTables project for you to use on your site without needing to host it yourself.

Furthermore, the CDN can serve the files for the DataTables components and dependencies that you require as a single concatenated and minified file, or as individual files through use of the DataTables download builder.

All you then need to do is include the files you want on your page! This can help improve performance on your site and make prototyping much easier.

The DataTables CDN is powered by the CloudFlare network.

Styling options

Select the styling libraries that you wish to use using the buttons below to display the files that should be included on your page.

DataTables is a powerful Javascript library for adding interaction features to HTML tables, and while simplicity is a core design principle for the project as a whole, it can appear quite daunting to get started. However, taking those first steps and getting DataTables running on your web-site is actually quite straight forward as you need only include two additional files in your page:

Software compatibility is extremely important for large projects such as DataTables. The documentation on this page is provided to detail the browser support for DataTables and its extensions, and also the compatibility between the various features of the software as not all options can be used in tandem with others.

The information on this page always refers to the current release version of DataTables and its extensions – please see the downloads page for information on downloading the current versions of the DataTables software.

Feature compatibility

The DataTables library and its extensions provide a wide range of functionality. Not all of the features available for each piece of software is fully compatible with other aspects – the table below details the compatibly between the core features of DataTables and the extensions.

Please note that this grid is not exhaustive in its list of features or options – there are over 500 options and API methods for the software! For example the paging feature of DataTables is not listed as it is a core feature of the software and is compatible with all extensions.

DataTables 1.11.3

DataTables CDN files for DataTables 1.11.3. This software was originally released on 24th September, 2021.

Release notes

The main change in this release is to handle a potential XSS issue if an array of data was given to the text renderer (many thanks to Alessio from Synk for finding this). We also add a couple of polyfills for IE and address a Bulma styling error.

  • Fix: If an array was passed to the HTML escape entities function it would not have its contents escaped causing a potential XSS issue
  • Fix: Add polyfills for Array.prototype.includes and String.prototype.includes as we use it in extensions now and IE11 (which is still supported) does not have these methods

    Download individual nightly files

This page provides links to the nightly versions of the DataTables software. These files are the very latest software and are provided for testing only. These nightly builds contain unreleased software, and may at times be unstable due to development changes, but also contain all the latest features and bug fixes, so you may wish to use then for testing.

If you elect to use nightly software in production, please download the files required and host them locally. The nightly files are not heavily cached like the CDN files and will change as DataTables development continues

One of the best ways of getting started with a new software library is to jump right into the examples provided and start playing with the options each example presents. This lets you directly see the effect of each option on the pre-built examples, providing solid groundwork for when you start creating editable tables yourself.

Editor has a number of examples that are included in the .NET and PHP download packages so you can manipulate the examples to your heart’s content!
