If you enjoy customizing your desktop with your own images — or need an easy way to create a slideshow for a presentation, party, or other event — try gPhotoShow. This easy-to-use screensaver makes it simple to display your images in a customizable slideshow format. It’s fun for home use, but professional enough for business, too.

gPhotoShow installs just like any other screensaver and is accessed through the Windows Display Properties menu. The program’s settings interface is tabbed and easy to navigate, with options for selecting multiple image directories, setting the delay between images and transition speed, setting background colors, and more. The program can also play music or other audio files, and we loved that both the images and audio can be set to play randomly or in order. There are 31 transition effects, and you can enable and disable them via check boxes. The program also lets you pause and restart the slideshow, as well as move back and forth between images. Built-in tool tips explain each of gPhotoShow’s features, but not much explanation was required; the program is quite easy to figure out, and we had a great-looking slideshow up and running in a matter of minutes. Overall, gPhotoShow didn’t wow us with any particularly new or innovative features, but if you need a straightforward way to create a screensaver slideshow, we think this is a great option. It’s easy to use but also has plenty of options for customizing and personalizing the display.
