DWG Import for SpaceClaim is an AutoCAD DWG file import add-in for SpaceClaim. It gives SpaceClaim the ability to import mesh objects from AutoCAD DWG files as solids models in SpaceClaim. SpaceClaim already has an AutoCAD DWG import feature. However, this import feature imports only 3D solid objects and ignored polyface mesh, polygon mesh and 3d face objects in DWG files. DWG Import for SpaceClaim and DXF Import for SpaceClaim supplements SpaceClaim’s existing DWG/DXF file reading capabilities with ability to read PolyFace Mesh, Polygon Mesh, and 3D Face objects in DWG/DXF files and convert them into solid objects in SpaceClaim document. These solids can then be edited using SpaceClaim’s direct editing tools as if they were created in that application. Both add-ins come with installer and compiled HTML help file with step-by-step tutorial.
